Fan Faves, Rockin' Blues and Plenty Bug/Windswept songs get the Destroyer's treatment.
George Thorogood & The Destroyers return to Capitol/EMI for their new release “The Dirty Dozen” (July 28th), a new album paring new studio recordings with fan favorites & rarities.
Being a huge fan of vinyl, George sequenced the release just like an LP – just as they would be placed for a classic vinyl album. So the new recordings are Side One and the rare tracks make up Side Two.
Launching the new recordings on Side One is Willie Dixon’s swaggering “Tail Dragger”, vividly illustrated by Thorogood’s vocals and guitar, Also on Side One are Thorogood’s new recordings of Muddy Waters’ “Born Lover” and the Wendell Holmes/Holmes Brothers’ song “Run Myself Out of Town” (Gardenville Music & Foggy Day Music). Side Two’s fan favorites open with Thorogood’s previously out-of-print guitar and sax-propelled take on Willie Dixon and Howlin’ Wolf’s “Howlin’ For My Baby”. Check this one out!
